One Body

Everyone at Ballylinney is encouraged to be a partner in the ministry, as we seek to know Jesus and make him known. Church life is a team effort. We are one body in Christ with many different gifts just as the body has many different parts (1Corinthians 12v12-31). Each part performs a different role yet working with the same goal in mind (Romans 12v4-8). Everyone is encouraged to use their gifts and resources to serve God and his people.

First Priority

The first and most important place to serve at Ballylinney is in the church prayer meeting. Our practise at Ballylinney is to follow the example of the early church as recorded in the New Testament who regularly gathered together for prayer (Acts 1v13-14, 2v42, 4v24-31, 6v4, 6v6, 12v12, 16v25). Before considering any other opportunity to serve we would ask you to consider faithfully attending a church prayer meeting. Prayer does not equip us for greater works. Prayer is the greater work. Ballylinney Church prayer meetings are every Sunday 10:30-10:45am and Wednesday 19:30-20:30, Hagan Room, Church Hall.

Practical

There are many practical opportunities to serve at Ballylinney. For example, on Sundays we need people to welcome and steward, prepare our announcements, run the sound and livestream, serve refreshments after the service. There are always opportunities to join a team and get involved. Why not speak to Joan Gault our Congregational Committee Secretary about a way you can practically serve at Ballylinney?

Youth

There are also opportunities at Ballylinney to serve children and young people in Sunday school, crèche and our various youth organisations. If you are a Christian who would like to commit to one of our youth ministries, then please speak to the leader in charge, any of our elders or minister, we would be delighted to talk to you. All applicants for children and youth ministry will be vetted by Access NI and undergo PCI Safeguarding training.

Generous

The Bible tells us everything we have, including our finances, is a gift from God. If you would like to partner financially and have a record of your giving then please speak to Tony Hacking our treasurer about a Free Will Offering (FWO) number. Tony will also advise how Gift Aid may further increase your giving to the work of the Gospel.

Already there is so much happening at Ballylinney and we are so thankful to all those who give of their gifts, time, energy and resources.
